9 Irish firms ranked among Europe’s fastest growing companies 9 Irish firms ranked among Europe’s fastest growing companies Image Source: Financial TimesIreland has been recognised as a key EU hub for innovation and commerce, with no fewer than 9 Irish-based firms listed in the influential FT1000 list of Europe’s fastest growing companies.The Financial Times FT1000 and special report â€" available to read  online  â€" is a league table and analysis of the 1,000 European companies with the highest percentage revenue growth between 2012 and 2015.Despite the debate around the UK’s Brexit over the past two to three years, the FT1000 â€" compiled by the Financial Times and Statista â€"  identifies  London as a major  EU  hub  for innovation and commerce, with  78 of Europe’s fastest growing companies based in the British capital.Paris is home to  the second largest bloc of FT1000 companies (45), followed by Milan (34) and Berlin (32).By country, Germany is the base of the largest number of Europe’s fastest growing companies  (235), followed by the UK (234), Italy (185) and France (140).Of the nine Iris h companies, seven are based in Dublin. Internet of Things (IoT) firm, Asavie Ireland, the highest ranked Irish firm in 115th place, achieved revenue growth of 901pc to €19m by the end of 2015.Founded in 2004, Asavie Ireland employees 79 people in Dublin, the UK, Germany, Spain and the US.Maximum Media, which runs a range of news and content sites, including Joe.ie, Her.ie and Sportsjoe.ie, was ranked 250th, and during the three-year period achieved revenue growth of 489pc to €4.3m.Just behind in 258th place is Irish regulatory technology firm Fenergo, with revenue of €18.7m, achieving growth of 482pc over the three-year period. Fenergo provides software solutions for investment, corporate and private banks.IT services company Agile Networks, which recently merged with PlanNet21, recorded end-of-2015 revenue of €9.24m (growth of 294pc) to be ranked 389th.In 414th place is Galway Natural Health Sales, which had revenue of €2.8m and growth of 275pc.AspiraCon, a Dublin-based IT services company, placed 855th on the list, grew its revenues by 221pc over three years to a December 2015 total of €4.2m.Ranked in 855th is the Dublin-based Synergy Security Solutions, with revenue of €30.2m and growth of 91pc over the three years.Cloud-based software firm Creme Global, headquartered in Dublin, was placed 860th, with €1.9m and growth of 91pc.The 73pc growth of Lotus Automation (LotusWorks) to revenues of €63.85m was sufficient to place the Sligo-headquartered engineering and technical firm at 936th on the FT1000.To be included in this FT1000 list of the fastest growing independent companies headquartered in 31 European countries, firms must have had revenue of no less than €1,000,000 in 2012, and at least €1.5m by the end of 2015, and enjoyed internally stimulated growth during the period.
